Nottingham Forest boss Martin O’Neill was spotted with head goalkeeping coach Seamus McDonagh on Monday night in Bulgaria watching on as Kosovo recorded their first ever European Championships qualification victory.

Between the sticks for the visitors was 20-year-old Manchester City goalkeeper Arijanet Muric.

The Swiss-born Kosovan has made five appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side and spent the majority of last season as understudy to first-choice Ederson during the Citizen’s Premier League winning campaign.

Ahead of next season, Guardiola is said to be keen to let his man leave the club on loan in a move that the ex-Barcelona boss hopes will strengthen the young international’s first-team experience.

Muric is highly rated at City’s Etihad Campus training ground it seems.

“He’s got ice in his veins,” Belgian international Kevin De Bruyne told Sky Sports after the 6ft 6in shot-stopped pulled off a penalty shoot-out winning save to deny Leicester’s James Maddison in the EFL cup quarter-finals back in December.
