A SOAS – University of London MSc student called Jessica Kumari Gosling, needs some help with a research paper that she is writing on the Kosovan Diaspora in London. She would like to interview some Kosovan Albanians, between the ages of 18-25 years old on the topic of self-identity and migration.
As part of her degree in an MSc of Conflict, Rights and Justice at SOAS, University of London, Ms Gosling has been focusing extensively on the conflicts in the Balkans during the 1990s. Her interest in conflict increased after visiting both Kosovo and North Korea as well as living in Palestine for three months.
At present Ms Gosling is undertaking research on the Kosovo War of 1999. As part of her study in to the conflict, she is currently writing a research paper titled ‘Affiliation to the nation-state and self-identity after conflict: the case of young Kosovar Albanians in the UK’. The research paper aims to examine the effects and understanding of the conflict and the concept of self-identity for young Kosovar Albanians in the UK.
In order to complete this research paper, Ms Gosling is conducting a questionnaire and a variety of interviews with young Kosovar Albanians (between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five).
These interviews are focusing on the participants’ experiences of Kosovo, their self-identification and the differences between themselves and their parents. These interviews are strictly anonymous.
If you are interested in participating in one of these interviews, please contact Ms Gosling at the email address provided. The questionnaire results will be kept confidential and will be accessible to only the student and her supervisor. The questionnaire links are provided at the bottom of this article. Please complete it and send it to Ms Gosling at firstname.lastname@example.org
