“Drug crime is pervasive through the UK and it was problem long before our country welcomed more migrants from EU countries in the past two decades. To suggest it is merely an immigration-related issue is a lazy response.
While the likes of Tristen Asllani (an Albanian criminal), have brought nothing but trouble to our society, there are millions of migrants from countries such as Albania who contribute much to London and the UK. These are the people we should publicise.”
“Your front-page story yesterday depicted Albanians in London in a very negative light, implying that the only thing they should be known for is their role in cocaine trafficking and violence. It would be nice to have some more positive press about Albanians for a change. The fact is that they make up a large part of our construction workforce, building the houses to resolve our housing shortage while often living in appalling accommodation. It was also interesting that you mentioned the drug dealer’s nationality yet made no reference to the singers Bebe Rexha and Rita Ora’s Albanian heritage on the next page. Is this not a case of double standards?”
