Three Albanians will sing for three different countries on Eurovision Song Contest 2018. From left to right: Eugent Bushpepa (Albania), Eleni Foureria (Cyprus), Ermal Meta (Italy).

For Albanians this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, which is held in Lisbon, Portugal, is even more special, as there will be three Albanian singers representing three different countries.

Eugent Bushpepa will compete with the flag of Albania, as the winner of the 56th Song Festival with the song “Mall”.

Ermal Meta, winner of Italy’s 68th Sanremo Festival, an Albanian emigrant from Fier, will compete with “Non Mi Avete Fatto Niente”

Eleni Foureria, an Albanian girl from Fier as well, is going to sing under the flag of Cyprus, with “Fuego”.

The songstress of Albanian origin, Eleni Foureira, came to public attention some time ago after denying her origins. Known as Greece’s Beyonce, she was attacked by Albanian fans, and then forced to admit that if she would declare her origins, she wouldn’t have a chance to be successful in Greek speaking lands.
