Victor Vescovo, a US businessman and explorer, last year achieved a new record of diving with a submarine boat, descending to the bottom of the Marian cave and discovering there some plastic bags. Vescovo, a US Navy retired and now an investor reached the depth of 10,927 meters.
Others, seeing the pictures from the mission, and on the boat and arm of Viktor Veskoff’s outfit, saw the Albanian flag, double the flag of the United States of America, the United Nations and Texas.
The question is therefore rational about what the Albanian flag does on a mission to the Pacific Ocean? The answer is given by the official website of Five Deeps Expedition:
“Albania’s Kuq e Zi (Red Black) of Albania is a tribute to the perseverance, tenancy and extraordinary history of the great Albanian people and one Albanian woman in particular who is the long-term partner of the expedition’s sponsor and who remains a strong supporter of the expedition.”
The same submarine was planned to be used in March 2020 to dive into the ‘Midnight Zone’ of the Indian Ocean to study the effects of climate change on deep-sea marine life, 3,000ft below the surface, but the expedition was postponed in response to the global pandemic.
