COPS have asked the public’s help to trace a mystery woman who helped a mum and her two children – moments before her 13-year-old daughter vanished.
Police said the Albanian mum, accompanied by her children, approached the woman for directions to the nearest police station.
The member of the public kindly took the woman – who is of Albanian descent – and her children to St Albans police station at the Civic Centre.
But she left before officers could speak to her directly when the distressed mum reported her daughter Megi Bukaci was missing.
Megi is described as 4ft 9in tall, with very long dark brown hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing a grey top, black jeans, a dark blue jacket and small silver hoop earrings. She has a small scar next to her right eye.
Chief Inspector Neville Hanks said: “This is very much an emerging enquiry and our investigations remain in the early stages.
