Today at 11.00 am started a 12 hour event to raise funds for the new MaK medical appeal – to fully equip an ambulance for the 130,000 men, women and children served by Podjeva hospital in Kosovo. Venue: Chorlton Central Church, Barlow Moor Road, Manchester, M21 8BF.
It’s going to be a great get together for the MaK team who are travelling from far and wide. There will be short presentations and films. Mandi and Rinna, young MaK leaders from Podujeva, are over for 10 days to talk about the wide range of current MaK projects in their home town. There’ll be dj’s, amazing live music and food. It’s free all day but there will be plenty of things you might be tempted by including a cask of beer donated by Chorlton’s generous Marble brewery!
Please come along and invite your friends.
If you can help in any way even better (drop us an email or text – we need a big team to share running this event even if you can only spare an hour or two).
We are appealing for cakes to sell, children’s books, DVDs, Games and CD albums in their boxes, garden tools for the Peace Park, jigsaws for a psychiatric unit, and donated clothes, bags and jewelry to sell. As always we’d love to receive laptops for Handikos and other community groups to supplement the 12 school IT suites MaK has already built in Kosovo.
It will be great to see you. Please share this event with anyone you think may be interested in coming along.
