It would be highly uncharacteristic of Ora to make any kind of homophobic slur at any rate, given that she is often outspoken in her support for gay rights.
Members of Graham Norton’s audience have apparently been left with a bad taste in their mouths after guest Rita Ora made a risky joke seemingly poking fun at his masculinity when she was on his show.
The singer and X Factor judge entered the stage where she was sat on an all male couch consisting of Ewan McGregor, Lewis Hamilton and Jack Whitehall and as she arrived, she cheekily quipped: ‘It’s so exciting to be here with all the fellas – and Graham.’
While the guests had a chuckle, Graham feigned an offended face but clearly took it in good humour.
Ora followed it up by saying that she was kidding, as if it wasn’t already clear. However, according to The Daily Star, some members of the audience were not convinced, with one member telling them: ‘My sister and I couldn’t believe it when she said it and there were quite a few mutters in the audience.’
Metro.co.uk reached out to Ora’s representative for comment and, while they are not officially commenting, a source from the show told us: ‘Rita said it as a joke and that is exactly how Graham and the audience took it’
Ora went on to discuss her new role as a judge on the X Factor before performing her new hit Poison to a great audience reaction.
