During his visit to Kosovo three days ago, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales attended a reception at Hamam Bar in Pristina to celebrate the relationship between the UK and Kosovo and to meet Kosovo and British citizens making a difference to people’s lives.
The guests included Kosovo Albanians who have been successful in Britain in a wide-range of professions including interior design, music, marketing, media, photography, science and law. The Prince talked to members of the cast and crew of the short film SHOK, a UK/Kosovo co-production which this year earned Kosovo its very first Oscar nomination. A great supporter of volunteerism, the Prince also spoke to Kosovan volunteers and young achievers working to improve people’s lives and opportunities through initiatives in areas including the environment, sports, poverty reduction and children with special needs.
The Prince also met Chevening Scholars who have used their experiences of studying in the UK to make a contribution to public life in Kosovo, and British citizens who are working on volunteer basis with all the communities in Kosovo.
