Jamie Carragher heaped praise on Granit Xhaka’s performance in Arsenal’s 2-1 win against Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley last night.
The Switzerland international was playing in his first FA Cup final after the defensive midfielder moved to Arsenal from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach in the 2016 summer transfer window.
However, the £33m signing struggled to impress in his first season in the Premier League and the Swiss star was sent off against Swansea City and Burnley.
Xhaka was impressive in the FA Cup final as the summer signing managed to help Arsenal dominate the midfield area despite Chelsea boss Antonio Conte starting PFA player of the year N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher heaped praise on Xhaka for his influential performance in Wenger’s side as Arsenal won their third FA Cup in four seasons.
