Thief: Charaf Elmoudden snuck into the singer’s house (Metropolitan Police)

A thief who stole £200,000 worth of jewellery and designer clothes from the home of X Factor judge Rita Ora while she slept upstairs sobbed in the dock as he was convicted of burglary.

Charaf Elmoudden, 26, and an accomplice snuck into the singer’s £1.2million three-storey house in Kensal Rise to help themselves to valuables including Louis Vuitton shoes, vintage Chanel and Celine handbags, diamond earrings, and a collection of computers and iPhones.

The singer’s sister and manager, Elena, woke up to find the thief at the end of her bed raiding her jewellery box, and told Harrow crown court she was “overwhelmed” with fear as Elmoudden looked her “dead in the eyes”.

Elmoudden was remanded in custody until he is sentenced later
