SOLDIERS from the Yorkshire Regiment will today parade through the streets of York to mark their homecoming from Iraq and Kosovo.
The soldiers of the regiment’s 1st Battalion have the Freedom of the City and will march through the centre of York with bands playing, colours flying and bayonets fixed. In the coming days they will also march through Harrogate, Hull, Beverley and Leeds.
The parade will begin at 11.20am in Blake Street and 130 soldiers will march to the music of the Band of the King’s Division.
A salute will be taken at the Mansion House.
