British Albanian Kosovar Council are seeking applications for two part time posts to run a new family support project in Central London, funded by the Big Lottery for five years under the Reaching Communities programme.We’re based in central London and have worked with the community for the past 12 years, delivering projects for young people and families.

Community Development Leader

The Community Development Leader will act as lead officer on the project, ensuring that targets and outcomes are met satisfactorily.

Applicants are required to have in depth knowledge of the Kosovan community in London, excellent written and spoken Albanian and English language skills, and professional qualifications and at least five years experience in a caring profession. The post holder will represent the organization in both the Kosovan and the host community.

The post will involve recruitment of participants for family learning courses, and delivery of training, as well as negotiation with schools and social services for the development of cultural support in schools. The post holder will supervise the Project Co-ordinator and sessional workers, and manage the budget with the finance director, reporting to the Chairman.

The post is part time, and will require some evening and weekend work.

The salary is £20,000 per annum for 17.5 hours a week, with a 5% pension contribution. London weighting is included. The contract is for five years.

 

Project Co-ordinator

The Project Co-ordinator, reporting to the Community Development Leader, will recruit, co-ordinate and support volunteers.

The post holder will undertake training to deliver the programme, and support the Community Development Leader when necessary, participating in groupwork. Qualification and experience in a caring profession will be necessary. Albanian and English language skills are essential.

S/he will undertake administrative functions of the project, booking venues and sessional staff, school groups, residential weekends and training as well as working with the Finance Officer to manage invoices and receipts.

The post is part time and will require some evening and weekend work.

The salary is £15,000 per annum for 17.5 hours a week, with 5% pension contribution. London weighting is included. The contract is for five years.
