Albanian migrant remittances dropped by 3% or 200 million euros in 2009 from a year earlier, the International Organization of Migration (IOM) reported.
Remittances were 9.6% of GDP in 2009, down from 12.3%, mainly due to negative consequences of the global financial crisis, IOM (www.iom.int) said in a statement.
Around 39% of Albanian migrants said they sent money home every six months and 19% at least once every three months.
